The 807B in situ test system was designed to enable physiology researchers to easily test large rodents and other small animal muscle tissue with an ASI muscle lever system, either with established live animal protocols or in an isolated bath.
Features
- System designed for large rodents and other small animals
- Temperature controlled animal and limb plate
- Flexible limb clamping, several different limb clamps for in situ experiments. Clamps can be mounted at various locations
- Holes provided in limb platform for fixating pins
- Animal platform mounted on a horizontal slide allowing clear access to animal while positioning the limb
- Fine translation stage on motor mount to accurately set resting tension
- Lever system mounted on vertical and horizontal slides to allow easy positioning of lever with respect to the limb
- T-slot design provides flexibility to easily add additional equipment
- Corrosion resistant materials used throughout
The position of the animal with respect to the lever arm can be adjusted through a large range by simply sliding the animal platform and locking it in the desired location. A fine adjustment translation stage provides for fine control of the motor position which allows the resting tension or resting length of the muscle tissue to be set.
The 807B apparatus consists of a horizontal, temperature controlled animal platform, which doubles as a limb fixation platform, motor mount, slides to adjust animal position manipulators to adjust motor position and various limb clamps. The apparatus comes complete and also includes water lines with quick-connectors, screws to mount the motor and a set of tools.
All parts are manufactured from corrosion resistant materials anodized aluminum, stainless steel, and Delrin). The main frame is manufactured from an extrusion with T-slots that allow additional equipment to be easily mounted.
