The 803B permeabilized myocyte test apparatus was designed to enable physiology researchers to easily test skinned myocytes with an ASI high-speed length controller and force transducer.
The apparatus consists of a 8-well aluminum bath plate with a glass bottom on all 8 wells, thermocouple, 2 TEC heater/coolers, TEC temperature sensor, TEC control system and water cooler. All parts are manufactured from corrosion resistant materials (stainless steel, anodized aluminum and Delrin).
The 803B includes a large cell mounting area located in front of the 8 working wells. The top of a microscope mounting slide is flush with the top surface of the plate for easy transfer of the myocyte from the mounting area to the working area. The apparatus fits most common inverted microscopes.
Model 803B-XYZ provides motorized XYZ stages for the left and right side of the microscope along with joystick controls, dampled rods and mounting platforms. This equipment arrangement provides the researcher with fast and accurate positioning control of both the length controller and the force transducer which is especially important while mounting the cell.
Temperature of the test plate can be controlled from 4 to 40C within +/- 0.1C using the supplied ASI model 825A thermoelectric controller. The 825A also contains a low-noise thermocouple thermometer with both a digital readout and a voltage output. An ASI model 826A Water Circulator is also included.
